Golf

Ruggedly beautiful and challenging, the Stanley Golf Course offers enthusiasts the opportunity to play on one of the most southerly courses in the world. The 4,500 yard long course has 12 greens and 18 tees and has been developed and maintained to a high standard by dedicated members over the years.

Played by former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallagher who compared it to the early links courses of Scotland, the undulating course to the west of Stanley has the Two Sisters and Tumbledown Mountains as a striking backdrop.

The club welcomes visitors who can play a full or part round for just £5. The course may look easy at a glance, but with the brisk winds typical of the Falklands it will test your skills to the limit. Take up the challenge and book a round by contacting a local Travel Operator or FITB.

For the less experienced golfer, not to mention lots of family fun, the Lodge at Port Howard on West Falkland has a pitch and putt in the immediate grounds as well as a nine hole, par three course overlooking the settlement and harbour which is owned and maintained by a local landowner.
