Wildlife Tours

Reknowned for up-close-and-personal wildlife experiences, tours can be taken to view colonies of penguins, albatross, other birdlife and to spot marine mammals. Travel by vehicle usually includes an off-road experience. Boat trips are a great way of gaining a different perspective and often you will be accompanied by dolphins.

A wide range of options exists in all parts of the Islands. From a Lodge or self-catering accommodation your host may offer guided tours to suit your interests. From Stanley a number of guides specialise in particular locations and themes.

Battlefield Tours

The Falkland Islands have a rich military history, with residents of the Islands having participated in both World Wars, as well as the 1982 Conflict between United Kingdom and Argentina.

Many key military sites are focused around Stanley and outlying settlements, providing easy access by foot and vehicle. The hills and ridges around Stanley, in particular, provide enjoyable hiking for the physically fit to key monuments and landmarks made famous by the 1982 Conflict.

Led by local people with expert knowledge (in some cases, first-hand), you will be guided through strategies of battle and be able to glimpse the bravery of the servicemen who fought in 1982. Battlefield tours are available from Stanley and in some other locations around the Islands.

Cruise Ship Excursions

In addition to the tours available to land-based visitors, a number of special tours have been designed specifically for cruise ship visitors - who are often in the Islands for just a day. Please click here to find out more.
