Islander Profile - Tony Smith

Islands born Tony is the owner-operator of Discovery Falklands providing customised tours for more than fifteen years. He has a wealth of knowledge relating to Falkland Islands history since 1764, the military history of 1982 and the wildlife sites of East Falkland. He also offers special interest and general tours to suit customer requirements.

Tony has provided transportation, guidance and support services for international television camera crews, photographers and other media professionals. Registered as a guide with the FITB since 1992, his work with TV includes documentaries produced for the 10th, 20th and 25th anniversaries of the 1982 conflict as well as news related, wildlife and general interest programmes – a grand total of 75 to date.

When Tony gets a chance to take time off, his particular interests are flying and aviation in general, off road bike riding and travelling.
