Stanley Vintage London Double-Decker

Join your guide and learn about the history of Stanley and the Falkland Islands aboard our London Double Decker Bus.

This is a very personal tour that will take you along past many of the major landmarks that have made the capital what it is today.

Heading East along Ross Road you will see the Cross of Sacrifice and the 1982 Memorial Wood. Your guide will give a detailed explanation of the Falklands War. You will also take in the Lady Elizabeth Shipwreck, the minefields at Surf Bay and the Totem Pole before heading towards Government House, the Battle Memorial and the Jhelum Shipwreck.

Your tour includes a visit to the Falkland Islands Museum, Britannia House where you will browse among whaling paraphernalia and other items pertaining to Stanley industries past and present.

You will then head back towards the Town Centre passing the 1982 Liberation Memorial which was built as a tribute to the British Forces personnel and civilians who lost their lives during the 1982 Falklands Conflict. You will also see St. Mary's Catholic Church, Victory Green - created to commemorate the First World War, Christ Church Cathedral and Jubilee Villas - built in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
