About

Situated close to Darwin settlement, the memorial marks the spot on which Lieutenant Colonel H Jones, Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment was killed as the Battalion advanced on Goose Green on 28th May 1982. Colonel H Jones was awarded the Victoria Cross. The memorial is easily reached by a short walk from the Mount Pleasant – Darwin road.
